Early morning

I spent an hour in bed early this morning with AI speculating about the future. We explored many possibilities, some beautifully optimistic, some pedestrian, some grimdark pessimistic.

My son (Siggy, 5), who sleeps in the bed next to me on weekends, woke up and rolled over for a cuddle, and I reflected for a moment that despite today’s great uncertainties of technological transformation, political instability, and uncertain economic times, I’m immensely grateful to be doing so today instead of at really any other time in human history.

It’s a crazy, stressful world, but we’re immensely fortunate to be here.
